National ParkThis spectacular land of fiords was first set aside as a National Park in 1904.
It is a land of luxuriant forests, towering peaks, valleys, lakes, rivers, wild coastline and massive rock walls. It is one of the few rare places on earth where humans have made few in-roads on the landscape.

In 1986 Fiordland National Park was judged as having "superlative natural phenomena and outstanding examples of the earth's evolutionary history" and was declared a World Heritage National Park.
