Cancellation Policy

As a small business, cancellations have a significant impact on our operations. We understand that unforeseen changes to travel plans can arise, and we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect yourself against potential cancellation fees.

Please note that disruptions due to weather conditions or road closures, which may affect your stay, are not covered by our policy. Therefore, we highly recommend that you obtain travel insurance to ensure adequate coverage.

Dunluce B&B is unable to absorb losses that should reasonably be covered by a travel insurance policy.

Cancellation Fees:

  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the arrival date: 100% of the total booking amount will be forfeited.
  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the arrival date: 25% of the total booking amount will be forfeited.

Child Policy:

We do not accommodate children under the age of 12 unless prior arrangements have been made with Dunluce B&B. Please note that we have a maximum capacity of 8 guests.

As part of our commitment to providing a peaceful and relaxed environment, we operate as an adult-only accommodation and have agreements with our partners to maintain this policy.

Booking & Payment Information – Dunluce B&B

A two-night minimum stay applies from October to May. However, we may accommodate one-night bookings where they fall between existing reservations. These one-night gaps are typically released closer to summer, subject to availability.

During peak periods (January, February, and March), a surcharge applies to one-night stays to help cover additional cleaning, linen, and turnaround costs. We appreciate your understanding.

To secure your booking, a valid credit card is required, and a 50% deposit will be processed at the time of our pre-arrival email. The remaining balance is settled on arrival or at the time of our welcome email. All payments are securely processed through Stripe, our trusted online payment provider.

A 2% credit card surcharge applies to international cards to help cover processing fees. There is no surcharge for New Zealand-issued cards.

We understand that travel plans can change — we’re happy to amend your booking dates free of charge, subject to availability and provided the change is made within our cancellation policy timeframe.

Should you need to cancel, your 50% deposit is fully refundable if the cancellation is made within the terms of our cancellation policy. Cancellations made outside this window may incur a charge or result in the forfeiture of the deposit.

Dunluce B&B reserves the right to charge your card for late cancellations or no-shows, in accordance with our cancellation policy.

We offer flexible payment options, including on-site credit card facilities, secure online payments, and pre-payment via bank deposit or credit card.

If you book activities through Dunluce, payment will be taken on arrival and a voucher will be issued for the operator. Please note that cancellation policies may vary between providers.

All rates include 15% New Zealand Goods and Services Tax (GST).
